One of the goals set by Stefanus, the Metropolitan of Estonian Apostolic Orthodox Church, is the creation of a strong, independent and sustainable economic environment for the church, which would support the church in realizing its set goals.
In 2004, the ecclesiastical polity of EAÕK set as one of its first priorities the stabilization of the economy of the church, during which:

- expenses were taken under a strict supervision;
- the analysis of the economic condition of the church was conducted;
- economic strategies were developed.

An important decision was the founding of OÜ EAÕK Varahaldus (decision of the ecclesiastical polity of EAÕK from 23 July 2004). The aim of OÜ EAÕK Varahaldus is to create an overview of the properties of EAÕK and secure the maximum productivity for the properties. In order to achieve the goal, the enterprise is engaged in the management of the properties, real estate development, and investment activities.

In the current year of 2006, OÜ EAÕK Varahaldus set as its new course of action the renovation and repair of the sacral buildings of EAÕK.
